Our nurses assist the doctor with certain procedures and can help with a variety of problems listed below:
- Wounds and dressings
- Blood tests
- Travel advice
- Cervical smears
- Family planning
- Stitch removal
- Vaccinations
- Healthy eating
- Removal of earwax
- Other general matters
Social prescribers aim to help you improve your health by connecting you with community services and activities, like support groups or exercise classes. They focus on addressing social issues, such as loneliness, housing or lack of support, that can affect your overall well-being.
Community nurses
There is a team of nurses attached to this surgery, operating 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The district nurse is responsible for coordinating care to meet the needs of patients of all ages who are housebound.
Assessment and specialist advice for continence, care of the dying, wound management, post-operative care, education and support on all aspects of health care within the home setting are within her remit. They can be contacted on 01452 300 213, please note they cannot be contacted through the surgery.
Health visitors
The health visitors appointments can be arranged or advice obtained by phoning 0300 4218 358.
They offer an advisory and supportive service related to child health and family issues, in addition to monitoring your child’s development, and pre-birth visits.
